Peter joined the Safety Regulation Group of the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority in 1999. He is responsible amongst other things for the regulatory oversight of flight inspection in the UK.  This oversight includes setting and publishing of safety requirements and the approving organisations to conduct flight inspections.  In addition to his responsibility for flight inspection he also has responsibility for setting safety requirements for navigation aids and navigation services, including ILS, MLS and RNAV.

Before joining the Safety Regulation Group he worked for National Air Traffic Services Ltd as the Head of Navigation Aid Maintenance and Support and later as the Senior Engineer for Communications and Navigation Aid Projects.
