Joseph Ayodele was born on March 3,1955 in Ogbere-Ijebu, Ijebu East, Local Government Headquarter of Ogun State, Nigeria. He attended Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos between 1969 and 1973. He spent a brief time in the shipping trade until before taking an appointment with the Nigerian federal Ministry of Aviation in 1976.

In January 1977, Mr. Ayodele began his studies at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre –NCATC (now Nigerian College of Aviation Technology -NCAT), Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, and in December 1978 he graduated with a diploma in Aeronautica Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Maintenance. He continued his studies at NCAT focusing his education on navigational aids equipment maintenance.

In 1980, Mr. Ayodele became a member of the pioneer Nigerian Flight Calibration team. This team attended training at the Sierra Research Technologies in Buffalo, New York and also attended FAA approved Flight Inspection training at the Wilcox Electrics Training Centre, Kansas City, Missouri in 1982.

In addition to his many qualifications including a Masters degree in Transport Management from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Nigeria, Mr. Ayodele also attended the EASA Part 66 B2 (Avionics) Licence qualifying modules at the City of Bristol College, England. He holds a Full Technological Certificate of City and Guilds of London Institute in Telecommunications. He is also a pioneer member of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Industry to acquire the Air Traffic Safety Engineering Personnel Licence in 2005.

He has attended several seminars and workshops in the Flight Inspection of navigational aids and airspace systems and other related aviation subject matters.

Mr. Ayodele has risen in ranks to become the Head of the Flight Inspection Electronics Division of the Navigational Aids Flight Inspection and Surveillance (NAFIS) Department of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as its Assistant General Manager. He has participated in all of the programming, flight inspection and calibration activities performed in Nigeria by his Unit or other foreign flight inspection teams contracted to do such by the Nigerian Government.

Joseph is married to Mrs. Folashade Adeolu Ayodele; they have two sons and two daughters.
