Christo van Straaten has been with the Flight Inspection
section from 1984 when the section was still under the auspices
of the Department of Transport and recently with the CAA since it's
inception three year ago. As an active flight inspector he is also
responsible for the marketing and planning of flight inspection
in the SADC region.
1980 - 1984 Graduated from Wits. Technicon NHD
Electrical /Engineering.
2000 Graduated from Damelin with a Dip. Logistic / Strategic Management.
From 1995 he resumed responsibility for all operational duties
regarding flight inspection within South African and neighboring
States.
1993 -1994 He was project leader for a new FIS installation of
an in-house design system into the then Department of Transport's
DC3.
He is presently involved with the establishment
of a Flight Inspection separate business unit (SBU) within the
CAA umbrella.
